In Brief
Richard (Zac Efron) is a teenager who dreams of being an actor and one day bumps into Orson Welles (Christian McKay) and manages to persuade him to give him the part of Lucius in his production of 'Julius Caesar'. Whilst working on the play, Richard meets and falls for an aspiring actress, Sonja (Claire Danes), who will do anything to get her big break. Richard takes her out on a date, but finds that she has actually slept with Welles in order to be introduced to a big-name producer. Richard is heartbroken and argues with Welles, but stays to perform on the opening night. When he finds that Welles has replaced him with a child actor, Richard has to decide whether a life on Broadway is really for him.
